Gravestone Inscriptions for Andersons
We have collected extracts of the inscriptions made on gravestones in cemeteries in the North East of Scotland for about two thousand five hundred Andersons.
Obviously not every family could afford gravestones and indeed, even when stones were errected, some of them have been severely damaged over time by the elements and have become virtually unreadable.
One cannot underestimate that tremendous thanks we all owe to those individuals who have collected details of monumental inscriptions before these disappear forever.
Many of these details have been put into booklets and published by groups such as the Aberdeen & North East Scotland Family History Society and the Moray Burial Ground Research Group.
While our information does contain extracts of such inscriptions it is highly recommended that you purchase actual booklets which often provide considerable additional information about family connections and the location of gravestones within a cemetery. Some booklets also contain photographs of gravestones.
We would be pleased to assist you in finding inscriptions for your missing relatives. To do this please refer to our Query and Feedback Section.
